After School Club & General Info

After School Club

What are the After School opening hours?

The After School Club is open every school day, 3.15 to 6pm. Remember that there are additional charges if you fail to collect your child by 6pm.

What are the arrangements for school pickups?

At SMR our Playworkers will collect your children from their class or from a designated area where they will be supervised by a classroom assistant until they are discharged into our care. We arrive at the school’s normal closing time and take them directly to the playscheme.

At VP the children will be taken to our designated building by their teachers where our Playworkers will be waiting to welcome them.

My child is used to a snack after school. Should I provide one?

Children will be provided with a light snack after arriving at the scheme – usually fruit and healthy snacks – so they do not need to bring one. It is however, entirely up to you.

General Info

What activities do you provide?

Our aim is to provide children with a space to unwind and enjoy themselves outside school, in a safe and stimulating environment. For some children, this means active games and for some it means quiet play. Our staff are experienced in providing a balance of creative, active and free play to cater for all needs. Creative activities include arts and crafts, cookery and junk modelling. Active play includes organised indoor and outdoor games and sports. Free play includes construction toys, dolls, board games and a quiet reading corner.

How many places are there each day?

We currently have 60 places

What is the age range?

We take children aged 4–11. However we will only take 4 year olds if they have already started school (Reception).
