Summary of key findings for parents:
The quality and standards of the early years provision are GOOD
This provision is good:
Children enjoy their time at the club. They form strong relationships with familiar staff and build friendships with each other. Children behave well, are kind to each other and helpful.
Staff provide a good range of resources for children to make choices about their play. For example, children show great imagination and staff support their ideas well. Children remain focused on self-chosen activities, such as exploring new paint sticks, and confidently talking about their designs. Staff question children effectively, to help them improve their designs.
Staff involve children in planning the activities and value their ideas. They seek regular feedback from children to improve the club and include them in decision making, for instance, which resources to purchase.
Leaders and managers evaluate the provision well. They have made good progress since the last inspection. For example, each younger child has a key person to provide individual support. Staff receive regular supervision. They attend staff meetings to help guide their professional development and to share good practice, to raise the quality of their interactions even further.
Overall, there is an effective partnership with parents to meet children’s care needs successfully. However, staff do not consistently gather information from parents about children’s interests and use this effectively to plan initial activities.
Staff do not use all opportunities to share information with the schools children attend to complement fully the delivery of the early years foundation stage.
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:
Develop further arrangements to gather information from all parents about children’s interests and use this information to support the initial planning process.
Make better use of opportunities to share information with the schools children attend, to complement the delivery of the early years foundation stage requirements.
