Did you know that Moose is a registered charity? This means we rely on volunteer trustees to make sure everything is running well, and we can continue supporting local families. We are looking for new trustees to help us keep offering a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for children after school and during the holidays.
In particular, Moose is urgently seeking a volunteer to serve as our Treasurer.
We’d especially love to hear from anyone with finance or accountancy experience, but we also welcome people with skills in HR, communications, legal work, governance or education — or simply anyone who cares about Moose and wants to help it to continue supporting local families.
To become a trustee, you don’t need to have been a trustee before, and you don’t need to know everything about charities. You also do not need to have a child at Moose Club. Trustees work together with the Moose team to help make good decisions, oversee the charity, and keep Moose in a good financial position.
The time commitment of a trustee is about two hours a month, including trustee meetings and the odd bit of admin between meetings. We’re always happy to have a chat if you are curious but not sure whether the role is for you.
Moose cannot run without volunteer trustees — so if you think you might be able to help, please get in touch with Sam at mooseplayscheme@hotmail.co.uk or speak to one of the Playworkers. You’re not committing to anything by getting in touch; it’s just a chance to find out more about what’s involved.
If it’s not for you, we would really appreciate you sharing this with friends, family or your networks who might be interested or able to help.
