We need directors!

Would you like an opportunity to shape after-school and holiday care for your child and local community?

MOOSE club is a not-for-profit charity and provides after school and holiday child care for both Victoria Park and St Mary Redcliffe Primary School.

We urgently need new volunteer Directors to run the charity from Sept 2024. Moose club would not be open without the oversight of a Director team.
We are recruiting for a Secretary, Chair and Treasurer, with opportunities to work with the existing team from May 2024, ensuring a robust hand over later in the year. The current Secretary, Chair and Treasurer have a combined 18 years service between them!

The Treasurer role is heavily supported by an external accountancy firm, so the role is high level strategic and great for someone with financial or business experience or background.

The Chair directs our termly meetings and is responsible for facilitating group decisions about the organisation and supporting the Board members in managing the charity.

The Secretary role requires a great organisational and administrative skills with an eye for detail. A willingness to research information, supported by BAND ( Bristol Association for Neighbourhood Daycare Ltd) and to familiarise yourself with charity compliance would be beneficial to the wider group.

The current volunteer Directors are parent/carer users of the setting and work alongside the fantastic Moose staff to ensure they have the facilities, finance and operational oversight to continue providing a fun, nurturing and safe place for our children.

If you can spare 2-3 hours each term and are interested in becoming a future Director, please get in touch with mooseplayscheme@hotmail.co.uk or one of the Playworkers when collecting your child/ren.
Joining a Director / Trustee team is a great way to meet new people and parents from the local community and build skills for your CV, not to mention the benefits of being a volunteer and use your existing skills in helping to run the charity. We would like to continue managing the charity with a Director team that reflects our diverse community. The roles are varied and skills from many areas of employment are extremely valuable to the running of Moose.
